The game takes place in the ancient land of Destainia. The once proud and peaceful land is under attack, an evil Sorcerer who was banished from the Kingdom has found a powerful ancient Medallion. The Sorcerer is using its powers to turn the land into lava, starting from the center of Destainia and creeping its way until it engulfs the whole land. The King of Destainia has given the task to anyone in the Kingdom to defeat the Sorcerer and reclaim the Medallion. This is not an easy task considering the Sorcerer is very powerful and has the Medallion by his side. The Medallion is capable of harnessing the power of the earth in the form of lava. The Medallion’s power works by its owner choosing a certain location to target with its magic and focusing its power to draw up lava from the earth. The lava is devastating to anything in its path and is capable of destroying the whole kingdom. It was hidden by the Magician’s great grandfather and could only be found using a map that he drew of its location. The Medallion was hidden because its magic was very powerful and served no useful purpose other than destruction. The origin of the Medallion is unknown although some believe that it was made from a material that fell from the sky.
